Some wise opinions from both poker writer Jonathan Little, one of my favorite poker writers. I have never left her column in the Sunday issue of the Los Angeles Times.

His January 19 column caught my eye. I have to stop and reflect. Let me quote: “In poker, before you bet, you have to stop to think about the outcome of the bet…. Then, based on the likely results, determine what betting is your best need. “

Playing low limit / middle Texas hold’em, how good is that? How much help is that? Will it make you money – or cost you chips? My answer? It depends on factors. Have a look at some of the actual hands I’ve played recently from the Big Blind, visit poker88.

Generally, the (Ref. Hold’em or Fold’em? – Algorithm for Making Key Assignments) scoring is based on:

• The value of your two hole cards

• Place your bet – early, middle or late

• Is there an increase in wages?

• Number of enemies left to see unsuccessfulness

• The characteristics of your enemy

• Game structure – tight (infrequent improvement), loose (some players call deep playing hands), or aggressive (multiple increases).

But there are times – although quite rarely – when you still have to look at not working and when a large number of these factors don’t work.

Some time ago, I wrote about a card I cleared in the $ 4- $ 8 limit game:

3 clubs-2 hearts in Big Blind

I’ll take out my card when I find out if no one’s carrying. Don’t turn down the “Free Card” – especially the unsuccessful ones. It will allow me to look over 70% of my last hand for free. The four enemies as well as I watched as the dealer slowly placed three cards, side by side, face up on the board:

3 spades – 3 diamonds – 2 clubs

A quick look at my hole cards confirming my hand:

Wow! At that time, I was slow to play to keep the “opponent” in the pot to build it up as much as possible. That “free card” adds another stack of chips to my winnings.

Some time later, I was given 3 clubs-4 clubs in Little Blind. That’s another hand I would normally make. But no increase in wages and a large number of my enemies teetering to see the unsuccessful make the potential prospect really attractive. So for just two more chips, it’s worth the small effect.

Sure enough, I got lucky when the unsuccessful thing lasted:

Club Ace – 2 diamonds – 5 spades

I’ve dropped straight nuts. There is no flush or full house at that.

Being careful not to tell, I played my hand slowly. Put it all in the pot to make big wins. After I checked the failure, Under-the-Gun (UTG) opened the bet. 4 other people as well as I called to see the bend. Great start for making “my” pots.

However, what made me sad was changing to place the 2nd Ace on the board. With a partner on the chalkboard, there’s a chance someone can make a full house, but the odds are still good for me.

After I checked the corners, UTG reopened the bet. But this opportunity, UTG + 1 carries it. The other two enemies are named the 3rd bet. After some deliberation, I decided to end the bet with the 3rd increment. I silently prayed to the God of Poker: “No more pairs on the chalkboard.”

Guess what? 3rd Ace falls in the river! Every player with a pair in the hole or who has paired one of those hole cards makes me beat at full-house. After I checked, UTG checked. Next UTG +1 made the bet with a big smile.

Tofu? Almost believe that I have been through the river, but, with such a large pot, I need to get in touch.

UTG + 1 is K-2 for Aces-full-deuces. Next, UTG and I put our card. After that hand, I took a long break and stopped for the night after a while. Oh, really close.

I never forget those 2 hands. Jonathan Little’s advice remains reasonable.
